  • John Fitzgibbons

    Chairman
    Chairman

    John has been an entrepreneur his whole career. After finishing Harvard in the early 1990s, he founded and ran two energy companies in Russia that grew to prominence in their sectors – one (KMOC) sold to Marathon Petroleum Corp and another (Integra) taken public on the London Stock Exchange.

    Talus was formed in 2008 to provide capital and diverse operational support to start-ups and early stage growth companies, now comprising a portfolio of control investments across a broad range of different industries. John’s passion is finding and mentoring young leaders with the potential to build exciting and fast growing companies. The Talus platform is a unique one-stop-shop for aspiring entrepreneurs – specifically designed, capitalized and staffed to provide critical areas of operational support to early stage portfolio companies.

    The Talus track record illustrates unusual and repeated effectiveness in harnessing John’s management experience to create successful investment outcomes.

    Art Byrne, a non-executive director at Basin Holdings, is a leading expert in lean principles. Formerly with J.W. Childs Associates and The Wiremold Company, he has extensive experience in implementing lean strategies. Byrne has held executive roles at Danaher Corporation and General Electric, and served on various boards including Esselte and WS Packaging Group. He is also a distinguished author and a member of prestigious industry organizations such as the Shingo Academy and AME Hall of Fame.

    Rich is Managing Partner at Pine Brook Partners where he is responsible for managing the Firm’s investment activities. Prior to joining Pine Brook in 2011, Rich was with D.E. Shaw & Company, where he was a managing director responsible for co-managing the firm’s North American private equity effort. Previously, Rich was a partner with J.P. Morgan Partners. Earlier in his career, he was a partner with the Beacon Group, an investment and advisory firm.

    Rich has a B.A. from Dartmouth College.

    Rick is a seasoned executive with over two decades of experience in lean consulting and electrical equipment manufacturing. Trained by Shingijutsu Consultants, he has led lean deployments across diverse sectors in the US, Mexico, and Canada. Notably, at Wiremold Company, he played a key role in a landmark lean transformation documented in “Lean Thinking.” With executive roles at Brooks Electronics and Wiremold-Europe, Rick has a proven track record of driving integration and lean deployment, including overseeing six acquisitions in 18 months. Prior to this, he held marketing and new product development positions at Crouse-Hinds and Pass & Seymour.

    President

    George Sherman is a Managing Director of the Talus Group and President of Hudson Harvest. Before coming to Talus Group, George held several roles at Basin Holdings during his six years there including Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Operations. As Vice President of Operations, he assisted in the creation and implementation of the Basin Business System, a lean system made famous by Toyota, Danaher, General Electric, and Wiremold. Before Basin, George worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at Nomura Securities.

    He graduated from Brown University with an A.B. in Commerce, Organization, and Entrepreneurship.

    John is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience in turnaround management, business transformation, and operations. He has led successful transformations at over 40 companies and facilitated numerous process improvement projects, creating over $100 million in value. With a leadership style centered on employee involvement and a passion for continuous improvement, John has consulted for major companies including General Electric, Intel, and Liberty Mutual Insurance.

    Michael is president and founder of MXL Partners, a Silicon Valley based firm that provides enterprise sales training, consulting, and sales management coaching for companies around the globe. After a successful sales and management career in high tech, for the past 20 years Michael has been an award-winning, internationally recognized sales trainer and sales process consultant for companies of all sizes across all industries and is known for his practical and proven approach.

    Michael has a degree from Occidental College and an MBA from Stanford University. He and his wife of 42 years reside in northern California and have 3 adult married children and 10 active grandchildren.

    Justin is a retired USAF senior officer and special operations aviator with 25+ years of experience in operations. The problem-solving, coaching, planning, mentorship, leadership, and management skills Justin honed in the military have proven critically important in the business world. In the Air Force, Justin directed complex and elite Special Operations organizations where failure was not an option, often charged with handling the nation’s most important, dangerous, and sensitive missions. Justin also developed his passion for continuous improvement while in the Air Force, earning his MBA degree, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and PMP certifications. With Moffitt, Justin has consulted and facilitated Kaizen Events within a large array of industries including manufacturing, energy, services, retail, and logistics.

  • Ella Payne

    Director

    Ella joined Moffitt after 12 years of experience in Finance, Corporate Accounting, Business Analysis, and Enterprise Resource Planning System implementations in Europe, Japan, and Australia. She also brings extensive experience in inventory/asset management, finance, accounting, and sales.

    Ella lives in NW Florida with her husband, son, and daughter where she spends her time enjoying the outdoors with her family, traveling, and supporting local and national non-profits including the Special Operators Transition Foundation (SOTF) as the Emerald Coast’s Task Force Lead.

  • Craig Milliron

    Director

    After graduating from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Craig served for 23 years in the U.S. Army, with the majority of his time in Special Forces. He brings a wealth of experience leading large organizations and continuous improvement, having led a 500+ member Special Forces Battalion while synchronizing operations in 14 countries.

    Since joining Moffitt, Craig has facilitated Kaizen events at companies spanning manufacturing, services, retail, and food distribution industries.

    Craig has a B.S. from the United States Military Academy and an M.S. from the Naval Postgraduate School.
